when deciding what I wanted to do for the “UP-Close” project, I decided that I wanted to do something for Black History month.so I sketched-out a drawing of a girl with her eyes closed to indicate her ignoring  all of the hate “comments” that people-of-color hear through-out history.I also sketched her eyes closed show that she’s trying to ignore the pain in her chest. And the hole in her chest represents the pain that she feels when she hears all of the hateful slurs that are shouted -out  at her as the whole grows bigger and bigger in her chest.By creating this piece I want to show and symbolize to people-of-color to just ignore all of the hate in this word and to move on!
